A year in mid-coast Maine.

I hope you enjoy this trip through Belfast and beyond. Located in mid-coast Maine, in Waldo County, Belfast is renowned for its historic buildings, fine architecture and old sea captain’s homes; its working waterfront and unspoiled character.

This photo journey begins in May and continues through the four seasons. So, come along and see our home.  Please give the pictures time to load, it’s worth the wait.

         At the end of Main Street you will find our harbor overlooking spectacular Penobscot Bay. 

In May the boats are just beginning to return.

Pleasure boats and working boats share our beautiful harbor.

The tug boats work all year.

 Duty calls 

              Main Street and the waterfront are busy with summer activities –

Art walks, live street music, outdoor concerts, fairs, festivals, farmer’s markets & more.

Belfast has four city parks to explore. Bring your lunch and enjoy.

Or play on the beach.

Or enjoy a romantic evening.

It’s even fun to walk in the rain.

Then stroll down quiet streets. See our many historic homes and beautiful grounds.

Experience a feeling of times past. 

        

     

Explore the surrounding towns.  Feel the peace and tranquility. 

  

May – Lilacs and apple blossoms.

And, of course, Lupines.

Summer joys!  Pick your own strawberries at one of our local farms.

Take a day trip beyond Waldo County and visit our many lighthouses and the seacoast.

Or drive into the mountains.

Beautiful any time of the year.
